DAVID AND TINA BOSTIAN
David and Tina Bostian have been in Brazil for their first term since
September 26, 2007. They have five children, fifteen years and younger. They focused on learning the Portuguese for
their first term and use every opportunity to preach, teach, and evangelize and to acquaint themselves with the Brazilian
people and culture.
David Bostian is involved as a church planter with a vision of starting new
churches in East Central
Brazil. He also preaches in
churches, at retreats and special meetings. His main interest currently
is in the establishment of a church in the small town of Estiva where eighteen have accepted Christ and attend meetings.
Tina Bostian’s ministry involves home-schooling for four of their five children; the oldest son Shane studies high school
in the U.S.A. She is involved in ministries with children, youth and in music at the Morada congregation and teaching Bible in
the public schools with a team of workers.
HISTORY. David Bostian holds a Master of Divinity degree from Mid-America
Baptist Seminary, in Memphis, TN, and an undergraduate degree in Christian Studies from Wayland Baptist University. While serving
six years in the U.S. Navy, David met Tina and they were later married. David has served on short term mission trips
in Russia, India, Brazil, and Zimbabwe. He realized God’s call for missionary service in 1992, while preparing to travel to Russia
on his first short term trip.
Tina Bostian was born and raised in Hawaii where her parents and brothers still
reside. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Wayland Baptist University, and worked for the Arkansas Baptist
Children’s Home for over five years as the girls’ case-worker. Tina was involved in children’s ministry for over seventeen
years. She developed a heart for missions, growing up in churches that focused on missionary work, as well as living in
multi-cultural Hawaii. Tina has traveled on short term mission trips to Russia, Kenya, and China, all of which has
strengthened her call to career missionary service.
GEORGE
AND EUNICE HARMON
George and Nice Harmon’s main ministries are Harmony Camp,
Harmon Bible Church and seminary teaching. Harmony Camp is seven miles from the city of Araçatuba,
São Paulo; George is the camp director. The camp has a full camp program reaching children, adolescents and young
people with a capacity of 120+ campers. The grounds are also used for conferences, retreats and events on holidays.
George is also a teacher at the Bible Seminary of Evangelization (SBE). On the premises of Harmony Camp
, they also minister at the growing, rural Harmony Bible Church, evangelizing in the community. Bible studies and
discipleship are large parts of their ministry.
The George Harmon's have four children: Tim, Nathan, Évely and Mélanie.
Tim and Nathan are both graduates of the Bible Seminary of Evangelization (SBE). Nathan graduated from Frontier
School of the Bible in Wyoming in 2008, and now works in the church and camp ministry at Harmony, and is a
teacher in an English school. Tim helps in the ministries, and seeks the Lord’s will for his future. Évely studies
and helps at home; Mélanie teaches in an English school, studies classes at the SBE seminary and takes a college course.
The children all participate in the Harmony Camp and Harmony Bible Church work. George and Eunice Harmon
joined the Brazil Inland Mission, Inc. on April 26, 2002.
HISTORY. George Harmon was born in a mission hospital, the youngest of four
children of pioneer missionaries to the Indians, Charles and Ruth Harmon. The family relocated to Araçatuba, São Paulo,
and continued there in active ministries after his mother Ruth was stricken with polio. At age sixteen, George accepted Christ
at a Word of Life camp in São Paulo. Together, in 1972, brothers John and George Harmon founded the Bible Institute of
Evangelism, (now, the Bible Seminary of Evangelization (SBE). In the beginning years, George was both student and
teacher at the Bible Institute. Later, he completed his studies at Moody Bible Institute and Calvary Bible College in
the U. S. It was in 1976 that he met Eunice, a student at Bible Institute in Araçatuba, São Paulo, who was
preparing for missionary work. A year later, they were married.
George was ordained to the ministry, helped in church planting, and helped
to found the Araçatuba Bible Church and the current Bible Seminary of Evangelization (SBE) together with his brother, John.
George helped to found other Bible churches, and he was pastor of the Araçatuba Bible Church for twelve years. Four
lovely children were adopted into this busy and happy family. George made real his dream for a Bible camp in 1999.
With help of brethren in the States, land was purchased and buildings constructed, and a thriving camp ministry continues
to this day.
Short-term mission groups are encouraged to participate in work at the Bible camps and other
mission activities.
"Our main purpose is to preach and teach Christ with joy, with the
objective of making disciples and glorifying God."
--Rejoicing always,
The George Harmon Family
JOHN
AND ANA HARMON
John and Ana Harmon serve the Lord in Araçatuba, São Paulo,
in southern Brazil. John is the Director of the Bible Seminary of Evangelization (Seminário Bíblico de
Evangelização), formerly known as the Bible Institute of Evangelism (IBE). John teaches classes and administrated the
seminary for several years, resigning from that position in March 2009. He pastors the growing Boa Vista Bible Church,
and supervises a branch congregation, Hope Bible Church. Ana cooks for the single students of the SBE seminary.
She leads the women’s ministries at Boa Vista Bible Church, and helps in children’s ministries. Both John
and Ana are greatly involved in a discipleship ministry. John and Ana have three children:
John Carlos, Jr., Rebecca and Hadassa. John and Ana Harmon joined the Brazil Inland Mission, Inc.
on April 26, 2002.
HISTORY. John Harmon is the eldest son of Charles and Ruth Harmon, who
began to serve as missionaries in Brazil in 1936. John was born in Battle Creek, MI; his younger brother George and sisters
Virginia and Joía were born in Brazil. The family served with the Nambiguara and Terena Indians, and later in Araçatuba,
São Paulo. In 1963, John gave his life to the Lord. Two years of serving in the United States Army in Germany proved to be
of key importance of fundamental teaching and biblical principles as John worked with the Navigators. John returned from the
Army to Battle Creek, MI, where he finished studies at Western Michigan University, and then went to the Boot Camp training
of New Tribes Mission. John's desire was to help his parents because his father was very ill and soon went to be with
the Lord. God had other plans for John. Instead of going into tribal work, the Lord led John to work with his brother George
and mother Ruth in Araçatuba, São Paulo. In that city, the Harmon's first worked in a radio ministry and established churches
and administrated and taught in the seminary. Until the time of her death in March 2009, John and Ana cared for Ruth Harmon,
John’s mother, in their home.
CHILDREN. John, Jr., is married to Léia, and is ministering at a church in
São Paulo, and is a leader of Explosive Evangelism throughout Brazil. Rebeca graduated with a degree in
Nursing, and is taking post-graduate work in São Paulo, Brazil. Hadassa graduated from the SBE seminary, and then
married Daniel Rodrigues on June 26, 2004. Daniel is the leader of young people and the worship services at a
large Baptist Church as of 2009. Daniel ministers at the Bible Seminary of Evangelization (SBE) in administration
and teaching. Hadassa began an English school on the seminary premises. Both Daniel and Hadassa are furthering their
studies at a university.
"We are thrilled to be part of the Brazil Inland Mission as our ministry
and that of the Mission are the same, and we have already been part of the Alliance of Bible Churches of which the
mission is a member."

DAVID
AND DEBBIE THOMPSON
David Michel Thompson and Deborah Lee Nichols serve the Lord in the city of Vitória
da Conquista, BAHIA. One of David’s main challenges is to lead the Urbis I church as its temporary pastor and to train
and establish it, preparing it for a new Brazilian pastor. He also supervises the development of a new congregation in
Vila América and works with Pastor Adriano in that growing ministry. Other ministries of the Thompsons include
evangelism, church planting, discipleship, counseling, teaching and assistance in the Thompson Bible Theological
Seminary, development of the Armindo Gomes Bible Camp, coordination with the Alliance of Fundamental Bible Churches
of Brazil, and general oversight of the mission work in east-central Brazil.
David is the son of senior BIM missionaries, Robert and Alice
Thompson. Deborah is the daughter of Charles and Joan Nichols, associated with a life of ministry in the pastorate
and in Latin American missions. David and Debbie married in Iowa, on June 16, 1984, and they have three children:
David Andrew (1986), JoAnna (1989) and Jonathan (1999). David and Debbie (together with their youngest child,
Jonathan) began their sixth term on the field in August 2008. JoAnna continues her studies in Belton, MO, at Calvary
Bible College, and Andrew also lives in Belton, MO, where he is employed and seeks the Lord’s will for His future.
HISTORY. In 1984, David and Debbie Thompson began church
planting at a congregation in Urbis I, which now is an organized church and has its own ample church facilities.
Another work was begun in Lagoa do Temóteo in 1994, currently under the ministry of Pastor Adriano, an
effective Brazilian evangelist, and under the supervision of missionary David Thompson. In 1997, David helped to organize
a fellowship of small mission groups, independent workers and pastors -- the Alliance of Fundamental Bible Churches
of Brazil. David has given much help in the Thompson Theological Bible Seminary (2000), and both he and
Debbie teach. They founded a new church in the suburb of Petrópolis in 1998--the Calvary Bible Church.
That church was turned over to Brazilian leadership in January 2007 under the ministry of Pastor Hartman.
The David Thompsons and the churches and pastors of the entire fields in the states
of Bahia, Minas Gerais, and Paraná, also work in cooperation with the Union of Bible Churches.
Churches--located principally in the state of São Paulo and in Goiás--including the ministries of
BIM missionaries John and Harmon, George and Eunice Harmon and Ruth Harmon, and national churches and
congregations. (See:

raise their own financial support for the field. They also encourage,

ALICE THOMPSON
Alice Thompson, wife of
missionary Robert Thompson, continues her ministry with the Brazil Inland Mission, Inc. in publication of the bi-monthly prayer
calendars and the annual issue of PIONEERING. She maintains updated news and requests from the missionaries, and edits the
revised Pioneering publication. Regular communication is made with all who desire knowledge of the field and such is welcomed
and encouraged.
Besides working with the Brazil Inland Mission, Inc., Alice continues ministering at the local church in Minnesota where her
husband was the interim pastor.
HISTORY. Robert and Alice Thompson, served as BIM missionaries for
43 years in Brazil and were among the remaining founders of the Brazil Inland Mission, Inc. established in 1954. As a devoted
team, they helped pioneer the work of the Brazil Inland Mission, Inc., beginning on April 21, 1955, in the then jungle area of
the northwestern part of the state of PARANÁ in southern Brazil. In Umuarama, they served the Lord in church planting for 13
years and also founded the Evangelical Grade School in 1964 which still functions. In 1968, they founded the Southern
Theological Bible Seminary which Robert directed and in which they both taught for 27 years while raising five children.
In 2000, that seminary was moved to Vitória da Conquista, BAHIA, and continues with about 40 students in excellent facilities
with an outstanding staff and teaching body--under the new name of Thompson Theological Bible Seminary. The Thompson's retired
from active missionary service in January 1996 and resided on the Thompson homestead farm in Minnesota.
On June 23, 2009, Robert was suddenly ushered into the presence of the Lord. Alice continues to live on the farm in Minnesota
and remains faithful in her ministries. She is now the sole member of the original founders of the BIM. What the Thompson's
started in Brazil continues through the lives of their son David and family, through the efforts of all who are connected with
the Brazil Inland Mission and who support its cause and, finally, in the lives of many beloved Brazilian brethren who either
started with the Thompson's or who may have benefited from their fruits of labor. Bob and Alice’s life motto has been: “Then
shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord,” Hosea 6:3a. Knowing the Lord is a life of following Him. What a joy to have
done it together!
